The Moral

The teacher gave her fifth grade class an assignment: Get their parents to tell them a story with a moral at the end of it. The next day the kids came back and one by one began to tell their stories.

Tony, do you have a story to share?

Yes ma’am. My daddy told a story about my Aunt Karen. She was a pilot in Desert Storm and her plane got hit. She had to bail out over enemy territory and all she had was a flask of whiskey, a pistol and a survival knife.

She drank the whiskey on the way down so it wouldn’t break, and then her parachute landed right in the middle of twenty enemy troops.

She shot fifteen of them with the gun until she ran out of bullets, killed four more with the knife, till the blade broke, and then she killed the last Iraqi with her bare hands.

”Good Heavens”, said the horrified teacher. What kind of moral did your Daddy tell you from this horrible story?

Stay the hell away from Aunt Karen when she’s drinking.

We Can’t Drill Our Way Out, We Can’t Inflate Our Way Out Either

Barack Obama is against drilling, and suggested Americans add air to their tires instead.

This is not very helpful to the working poor who cannot afford a Prius, and may have to choose between gas and food.

We can’t drill our way out of the foreign oil crisis, but we can’t inflate our way out of it either. Until a suitable alternative is developed, people still need to get to work.

John McCain wants to find an alternative to oil, and step up production in the meantime.

Real Life- A Kid Gets A Lesson In Politics

I was talking with Catherine, the daughter of some friends, and she said she wanted to be President some day.

Both of her parents, VERY liberal Democrats, were standing there with us, so I said to Catherine - ‘That is a worthy goal in life, so, if you were President what would be the first thing you would do?’

Catherine replied - ‘I would give houses to all the homeless people.’

‘Wow - that is an excellent goal you have there, Catherine,’ I said.

I then explained to her. ‘You don’t have to wait until you’re President to help the homeless, you can come over to my house and clean up all the dog poop in my back yard and I will pay you $5 dollars. Then we can go over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out and you can give him the $5 dollars to use toward a new house.’

Catherine (who was about 5) thought that over for a second, while her mom looked at me, seething, and Catherine replied, ‘Why doesn’t the homeless guy come over and clean up the dog poop and you can just pay him the $5 dollars?’

And I said, ‘Welcome to real life…the Republican Party.’

I told her I didn’t think there was much for us to discuss because I wanted to drill holes and get the oil out, but I did it NICELY!
