A spokesman for the Little Rock Police said there were no “heated words” from the suspect who was killed in a shootout with police after a 30 mile car chase, and he was not recognized by the staff.

More information is needed to determine the motive of the shooter. Was he carrying a personal grudge against Gwatney, or was this attack motivated by politics?

This Wizbang Blog post shows that the lefties aren’t waiting to find out. They are already blaming Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Michelle Malkin and calling for the wholesale shutdown of conservative Talk Radio.

The level of acrimony between the extremes of the left and right in America have increased over the years but so far have been confined to a war of words on blogs and in the editorial pages of newspapers. If this killing is politically motivated it would signal a troublesome escalation.

Man Convicted For Having Sex With 13-Year-Old Girl Who Said She Was 18

Orange County, FL (AHN) — A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to a year in jail and five years probation after having sex with a 13-year-old girl who told him she was 18.

The girl did the same thing a year prior, when she was 12, and lied about her age to a 24-year-old man who was sentenced to five years in prison for having sexual relations with the minor.

Alisha Dean advertises herself on her Myspace page as 19 and divorced. The page has been marked private since the sentencing Tuesday, but one report said there is footage of Dean dancing and “shaking her womanly booty like she’s working the pole.”

WFTV News reported that Morris Williams had sex with Dean when he thought she was of legal age, but when her behavior tipped him off that she may have been younger than she said, he went to Dean’s father who told Williams his daughter was only 13. Dean’s father then called the police.

According to WFTV her family said she still stays out late. Another report stated that the Myspace page was only taken down the day after Morris was convicted.

Wesley Snipes leaves federal court after being sentenced to threes years in prison Thursday.

“Snipes’ long prison sentence should send a loud and crystal clear message to all tax defiers that if they engage in similar tax defier conduct, they face joining him,” said Assistant Attorney General Nathan J. Hochman of the Justice Department’s Tax Division.

Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Douglas Shulman said the law is clear on taxes.

“There is no secret formula that eliminates a person’s tax obligations, nor are there any special exceptions,” he said.

“The majority of Americans pay their taxes timely and accurately. Those who willfully violate the law must be held accountable.”

In a civil suit, the IRS is seeking repayment of all taxes and interest from Snipes.

Federal prosecutors said the actor for nearly a decade escaped paying more than $15 million in income tax returns by sending money to overseas accounts, though they acknowledged in court that the amount is in dispute.

Before the sentencing, the actor asked the court to show mercy and offered three checks totaling $5 million as a gesture of good will.

Federal prosecutors diverted the checks to the U.S. Treasury — which accepted the payment — but it wasn’t enough.

“It’s essentially a down payment, but a fraction of what he owes,” said Assistant U.S. Attorney Scotland Morris.

Snipes’ attorneys — who had argued he should get probation or house arrest — said they will appeal the sentence.

The actor, who showed little reaction, gave a loud “wow” to the crowd as he exited the courtroom.

A jury convicted Snipes on the misdemeanor charges February 1, but he was acquitted of more serious felony charges of tax fraud and conspiracy. Jurors accepted his argument that he was innocently duped by errant tax advisers.

Defense attorneys in court documents suggested that to sentence Snipes harshly would be to disregard the jury’s verdict.

But prosecutors, in their sentencing recommendation, said the jurors’ decision “has been portrayed in the mainstream media as a ‘victory’ for Snipes. The troubling implication of such coverage for the millions of average citizens who are aware of this case is that the rich and famous Wesley Snipes has ‘gotten away with it.’ In the end the criminal conduct of Snipes must not be seen in such a light.”

Snipes, who has starred in dozens of movies, including the “Blade” trilogy, “Major League” and “Murder at 1600″ had received the support of many of Hollywood friends. Defense attorneys filed 39 pages of testimonials, letters from a Hollywood “Who’s Who” list and also high school friends and his employees.

Actors Denzel Washington and Woody Harrelson, as well as television judges Joe Brown and Greg Mathis, submitted letters to the judge on Snipes’ behalf.

In his letter, Washington said Snipes was “like a tree — a mighty oak … Many who know him have witnessed the fruit of his labors, have sat in his shade and even been protected by his presence. I am proud of him, proud to call him a fellow thespian and most importantly, proud to call him a friend.”

Brown, who addressed the court on Thursday, likened Snipes to legendary actors, including Sidney Poitier, and said, “I have been something of a mentor to the young man.”

“This man is one of the most honorable men of character,” said Robert Wall, CEO and president of World Black Belt, a martial arts training firm. “He’s made mistakes, but I’m so impressed with the depth of his character.”

Bobby Lee Cutts Jr., 30, stared straight ahead as the verdict was read. He could become eligible for parole in 30 years, under the jury’s recommended sentence.

The six men and six women deliberated for 12 hours over two days before agreeing that Cutts should not be executed for the murder of his unborn child.

The jury’s verdict was merely a recommendation. Judge Charles E. Brown said earlier that if the verdict was life, he would immediately pass sentence on Cutts.

For those of you that have not heard, last week Kelly Tilghman uttered a remark during coverage of Hawaii’s Mercedes-Benz Championship on Friday, while she and and co-host Nick Faldo were bantering about how young golfers might challenge ever-dominant Woods.

Faldo said, “To take Tiger on, well yeah, they should just gang up for a while until …”

“Lynch him in a back alley,” Tilghman interrupted with a chuckle.

In events resembling the prelude to the fall of radio host Don Imus, Sharpton appears to be marshaling his forces for a fight with the Golf Channel, which suspended Tilghman on Wednesday.

Tilghman is a far cry from Imus, the morning show host who was canned after calling the Rutgers University women’s basketball team “nappy-headed hos.” Unlike the disc jockey, who is known for his off color humor and outspoken remarks, she has no history of stoking racial tensions.

Sharpton said he wants Tilghman fired, period. And if the Golf Channel doesn’t comply, the network can expect to see Sharpton and his National Action Network supporters picketing its Orlando, Florida, headquarters.

At first, the channel said it had no plans to discipline Tilghman, who issued a statement saying she had apologized to Woods and wanted to further apologize to offended viewers for “some poorly chosen words.”

Woods, who through his agent issued a statement saying he was friends with Tilghman and respected her, said, “We know unequivocally that there was no ill intent in her comments.”

Judge decides that Debra Lafave, notorious ’sex teacher,’ violated probation by having contact with underage female, but it wasn’t enough to put her behind bars.

TAMPA, Fla. — A judge decided Thursday that Debra Lafave, a former middle school teacher and sex offender, violated her probation by having contact with an underage female co-worker at a restaurant where she worked, but it wasn’t sufficient enough to put her back into jail.

Lafave — who has reverted to her maiden name, Debra Beasley — will continue on her stringent probation program or community control, Judge J. Rogers Padgett of the 13th Judicial Circuit in Florida ruled Thursday.

“The court finds that you are in violation of your community control,” Padgett said. “The court finds that the violation is neither willful nor substantial, and the court will not revoke your community control but will continue you on the same. Please don’t come back, OK?”

Prosecutors alleged that Beasley’s conduct violated her plea agreement and condition 69 of her orders of community supervision: “No unsupervised contact with any child under the age of 18 without another adult present who is responsible for the child’s welfare, who has been advised of the crime and who has been approved by the sentencing court until you have successfully completed a sex-offender treatment program unless authorized by the sentencing court.”

LOS ANGELES — A screaming, crying Paris Hilton was ordered back to jail Friday to serve out the remainder of her 45-day sentence for a parole violation in a reckless driving case.

“It’s not right!” shouted the weeping Hilton. “Mom!” she called out to her mother in the audience.

A witness said Hilton was “physically escorted” out of the courtroom by a female deputy.

The heiress will get credit for the five days she already served.

Hilton, 26, arrived in court Friday afternoon, sneaking past the media for the hearing that determined she was to be sent back to be jail. The sheriff’s department that released her from prison picked her up at her home under judge’s orders.

Hilton hugged her parents and her sister goodbye and appeared to be in handcuffs as she entered a black-and-white patrol car, in which she was photographed crying.

The car sped away from her home with lights flashing as news helicopters followed. Hilton arrived at the courthouse about 1:50 p.m. ET.

The reality star’s parents were also at the courthouse, with her mother Kathy Hilton telling reporters: “It’s in God’s hands.”

FOXnews is reporting right now that Paris Hilton was removed from the court screaming as he orders her back to jail to finish her sentence.
