    Breaking News: WASHINGTON —  Congressional leaders and the Bush administration have reached a tentative deal on a bailout of imperiled financial markets that could cost taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars. The House could vote on it Sunday and the Senate on Monday. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced the accord just after midnight Saturday and said it still has to be put on paper.     Barack Obama is against drilling, and suggested Americans add air to their tires instead. This is not very helpful to the working poor who cannot afford a Prius, and may have to choose between gas and food. We can't drill our way out of the foreign oil crisis, but we can't inflate our way out of it either. Until a suitable alternative is developed, people still need to get to work. John McCain wants to find an alternative to oil, and step up production in the meantime. ...

    OK, we can't drill our way out of the current gas price crisis, but the mere lifting of the off shore drilling ban by President Bush took the wind out of the speculator's sails and the price of a gallon of gas dropped below $4.00 per gallon, and without a single additional drill bit hitting earth!
