Students Friday protested all of the immigration policies being discussed by walking out of school. Over 3,000 students in Las Vegas, left school in protest.
"At this point it's peaceful," Jones said from a county emergency operations center activated to monitor the rallies scattered around the city. "Our concern is strictly public safety and to allow them to assemble peacefully.""It's an organized protest in that they all knew about it, but it's disorganized in that they don't all have one place to go," Jones said.
Students left as the school day began at campuses in Las Vegas and Henderson, Clark County school spokesman Dave Sheehan said."It's all about the immigration issue," Sheehan said. "It's in protest of what they consider to be their complaints with the immigration legislation."
"Thank goodness there's no violence reported," Sheehan said. "But the district is adamant: Kids should stay in school and not get it on their record that they're truant."
If my children would have cut school to join this protest, the ole ATM machine (Dad), would be closed. It's one thing to protest about something you believe in, but there is an appropriate way to do it. This shows just how immature they really are.
I have never been a big fan of schools imposing mandatory dress codes or uniforms. I feel that our children should be able to be individuals and have the freedom to express their own opinions as they get older, to a point.
I think that we as parents must play a role in teaching our children what is acceptable and what is not. There is not a day that goes by that you or I will not see a person wearing a t-shirt that is two or three times too big. Then there's the pants. Hanging down around the cracks of their @ss with a belt cranked down just to kepp them on. Buy pants and shirts that actually fit YOU and not the person 3 sizes bigger.
While I still do not like the idea of uniforms, I would not oppose a stricter code.
With all of the violence in our schools today, this video supports my reason for a stricter dress code...

Comments on Kids Walk Out Of School In Protest
Two problems --
1. These kids parents are illegals, in many cases, and actually support their actions.
2. Their ATM machine cannot get to them, because it's you and I, via confiscatory taxes and the government.
