It looks like our crime fighting reverend, Al Sharpton has decided the world needs his saving, again...
For those of you that have not heard, last week Kelly Tilghman uttered a remark during coverage of Hawaii's Mercedes-Benz Championship on Friday, while she and and co-host Nick Faldo were bantering about how young golfers might challenge ever-dominant Woods.
Faldo said, "To take Tiger on, well yeah, they should just gang up for a while until ..."
"Lynch him in a back alley," Tilghman interrupted with a chuckle.
In events resembling the prelude to the fall of radio host Don Imus, Sharpton appears to be marshaling his forces for a fight with the Golf Channel, which suspended Tilghman on Wednesday.
Tilghman is a far cry from Imus, the morning show host who was canned after calling the Rutgers University women's basketball team "nappy-headed hos." Unlike the disc jockey, who is known for his off color humor and outspoken remarks, she has no history of stoking racial tensions. But Sharpton says it is the word -- not the person or their history -- that matters. In a Wednesday interview, he compared Tilghman's statement to calling for a woman to be raped or for a Jewish-American to be sent to a gas chamber. Video Watch why Sharpton thinks apologies are insufficient »
"Lynching is not murder in general. It is not assault in general. It is a specific racial term that this woman should be held accountable for," the reverend said. "What she said is racist. Whether she's a racist -- whether she runs around at night making racist statements -- is immaterial."
Sharpton said he wants Tilghman fired, period. And if the Golf Channel doesn't comply, the network can expect to see Sharpton and his National Action Network supporters picketing its Orlando, Florida, headquarters.
At first, the channel said it had no plans to discipline Tilghman, who issued a statement saying she had apologized to Woods and wanted to further apologize to offended viewers for "some poorly chosen words."
Woods, who through his agent issued a statement saying he was friends with Tilghman and respected her, said, "We know unequivocally that there was no ill intent in her comments."

Allow me to preface this by saying I am NOT a fan of Don Imus. I do not like his show. However, he was treated unfairly.
Surely by now you have heard that last week, radio personality Don Imus called the Rutgers women's basketball team "nappy-headed hos" on the air last week. Immediately he was called a racist and became a target for media hounds Rev. Jesse Jackson and Rev. Al Sharpton. Both of which called for his immediate termination.
Imus initially was given a two-week suspension for calling the Rutgers women's basketball team "nappy-headed hos" on the air last week, but outrage continued to grow and advertisers bolted from his CBS radio show and its MSNBC simulcast. So today, CBS officially terminated him.
Ask yourself this:
Is Imus a racist? Maybe or maybe not.
Is he guilty of using a poor choice of words and poor judgement? Yes.
Was he fired for using a poor choice of words or poor judgement ? No... He was fired for being white.
If a black man or black woman uses the "N" word or calls a woman (black or white) a "Ho" it is culturally acceptable. If a white man or white woman uses the "N" word or calls a woman (black or white) a "Ho" it is racism.
Have you listened to any rap songs lately? "Bitch" this, "Ho" that, "N*****", "N*****, N*****....

This is only one example of the many rappers that have these kind of lyrics. But, it's ok, because they are black.
Have you ever driven down the street with your windows down enjoying the nice weather and maybe had your music turned up until you came upon a red light? Well I have, and I turn the radio down out of respect to other drivers who may be next to me. Then out of no where a car pulls up next to you with rims that look like they belong on a dump truck. The words "N*****, Ho, Bitch Ass" come from the very loud stereo as well as the driver. But, it's ok, because they are black.
Bottom line, if Imus would have called a white person a cracker or honkey, or had he been black, it would be culturally acceptable.
Tonight while I was surfing the blogosphere, I came across a post on a blog that floored me. On Steve Gilliard's blog, there is a post entitled " Simple Sambo wants to move to the big house". In the comments section, the author indicates he is black and he feels it's acceptable make these comments. I for one, do not.
Take a look and let me know what you think!
